Rift Valley elders have threatened to curse Mombasa governor Hassan Joho if he fails to apologize to deputy president William Ruto.
The elders accused Joho of belittling both President Uhuru Kenyatta and Ruto yet the governor was their junior.
“We have given Joho an ultimatum to apologize for disrespecting Uhuru and Ruto, if he does not we will curse him,” said John Kahutu a Rift Valley elder.
The elders also called upon National Cohesion and Integration Commission to take action against Joho for making disparaging remarks against Ruto.
Joho and Ruto have been in a words throwing battle, hurling insults at each other at whatever chance they get, with Joho accusing Ruto of having no moral grounds to fight corruption.
Ruto has also questioned Joho`s source of wealth and questioned his academic qualifications.
The elders warned politicians against premature campaigns and hyping tribal animosity ahead of the 2017 general elections.
