Mombasa Governor-elect Hassan Joho has invited his opponents to attend his swearing in ceremony.

The ceremony is slated to take place at the Mama Ngina grounds today (Tuesday). The ODM deputy party leader asked Suleiman Shahbal (Jubilee), Hassan Omar (Wiper), Hezron Awiti (VDP) and Daniel Kitsao (Kadu Asili) to shun their political differences for the sake of growing the economy. County Secretary Francis Thoya said Joho has nothing personal against the candidates who sought to dethrone him during the August 8 polls.“We want to go through a peaceful process. The governor apologized to all he wronged and forgave those who wronged him,” he said, adding that “whatever happened is behind us”.Mombasa County Communication Director Richard Chacha said Joho is ready to work with other leaders including his opponents to grow the county’s economy.“The election and campaign season has come to an end. The governor sees it fit to invite everyone, irrespective of their political affiliation, on board to help develop Mombasa,” he said.
