The race for the Mombasa gubernatorial seat has gained momentum. There is internal competition in National Super Alliance (NASA) and Jubilee has also invaded Mombasa to dethrone Sultan Joho.
This has made Wiper Democratic Movement front their party Secretary General Omar Hassan against ODM's Hassan Joho. Despite the notion that the coastal king Hassan Joho is not beatable, Wiper believes that Omar will be the second Mombasa governor. Party leader Klonzo Musyoka seconds Senetor Omar's psych to end Joho's rein.
‘I am told he is beatable by Omar Hassan and I believe so. He is a good man anyway and I think Uhuru has made him even more popular," Kalonzo said during a live interview on a local television channel.
The former VP also confirmed that the two partners in NASA have no problem with either of them campaigning for their preferred candidate. Raila Odinga is rooting for his deputy party leader's re-election while Kalonzo Musyoka wants his party Secretary General to be promoted to the governorship role. This has made many predict a disintegration of the opposition coalition but Musyoka says a fallout won't materialize.
"I have no problem campaigning for Omar and Raila Odinga campaigning for Joho. The people of Mombasa will make a decision,” Musyoka said.
