Nyali MP Hezron Awiti has claimed that Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho is incapable of properly managing the county.
In an interview with the Standard, Awiti claimed that Mombasa is run by Joho's brother Abu Joho.
The outspoken MP further claimed that all the businesses linked to the governor belong to his brother.
“Abu Joho runs this County with his brother Hassan Joho as his puppet,” said Awiti.
Awiti said he is the best candidate to manage the county, as he has a background in investments.
“This County needs someone who understands investment like myself in order to stimulate the economy and reclaim its glory as a trading powerhouse in the region,” he said.
Awiti, who has declared interest in the Mombasa gubernatorial race, said Joho can not transform the county as he lacks experience in finance.
“I have known Joho for a long time and can tell you that the man has never operated even a kiosk and is therefore not experienced in finance,” he added.
He said the people of Mombasa deserve better leadership, adding that that is the main reason why he's running.
