President Uhuru Kenyatta has dismissed claims that his government has been witch hunting outspoken Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho adding that they are 'good' friends.
The two have been at loggerheads with Joho losing his security details supposedly after he differed with Kenyatta our development in the coast.
Joho no longer enjoys security details after he 'released' them after the government had reportedly reinstated them last month.
"I am always ready to work with all leaders as long as they were elected by people. I hear some say that I am targeting them wrong but that is not the case," he said.
Uhuru added: "Some of those complaining are my very good friends and we do talk quite often over issues affecting our people."
Even though he did not make direct reference to Joho, Uhuru said he always works with all leaders despite their political affiliations.
