Kiambu MP Jude Njomo has dismissed Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho's continued onslaught against the Standard Gauge Railway project.
Speaking on Sunday during a church service at St. Benadette Ngoingwa Parish, the lawmaker argued that Joho's opposition of the Jubilee adminstration's projects was an attempt by the outspoken county chief to seek political relevance.
“Don’t fight development just because you do not agree with the President,” he said.
“Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho is seeking fame by fighting the SGR and this will not deter the railway from operating. Kenyans are happy that there is a faster means of transport from Mombasa to Nairobi," he added.
His sentiments were reiterated by Thika Town MP Alice Ng'ang'a.
The two legislators called on the locals to back President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election bid, arguing that the Head of State means well for the country.
