Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho claims that Jubilee administration wants to lock him out of this year's polls over drug trafficking claims.
Both President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto issued a stern warning to people believed to be drug peddlers in the coastal region.
But Joho, a die-hard supporter of opposition leader Raila Odinga says the notices were insincere adding that he was exonerated of the drug trafficking claims.
"I am not aware of being probed for drugs. How do you give a bank robber a notice? If you know the drug barons why don't you arrest them?"
The furious governor added:"The narrative that I am a drug dealer was peddled in 2013 to lock me out of elections. We are seeing the same peddled now. I want to tell you that I must be in ballot."
Further, Joho said he will fight plans to lock him out of elections where he is seeking re-election.
"The government must know that votes lie with people. I am a man and I will fight them till I get in ballot," reports the star.
