The Orange Democratic Movement party has released a timetable that would see senior politicians visit Nyacheki ward to drum up support for the ODM candidate.
The by-election which was precipitated by the death of former MCA Peter Ongeri is slated October 26th and would be the first under the new management of Party Secretary General Agnes Zani.
In a statement on Tuesday, head of campaigns and nominated Senator Janet Ongera released a list of officials and the date they are expected to visit the ward.
“As ODM, we are very keen to recapture our seat and I would like to urge our opponents to be ready for some fireworks. Senator Anyang’ Nyong’o and Nyamira Women Representative Alice Chae will be in charge on 16th,” she said.
“Thereafter, on 20th, Governor James Ongwae and a host of other Kisii County ODM officials and MCAs will pitch a tent in the ward to reach every voter. This will however not be a culmination,” she added.
According to Ms Ong’era, Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho who is also expected to visits Kisii Town on Saturday and his Nairobi Counterpart Evans Kidero will be in charge of campaigns on 21st and would be guided by Director of elections Junet Mohammed.
Party leader Raila Odinga and Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire who also doubles as ODM National Treasurer will grace the final campaigns on 23rd October where they will be accompanied by Governor James Ongwae and a host of other leaders across the country.
