Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho is mourning the death of Kilifi ODM chief campaigner Anderson Kingi Ngombo alias Kingi Mwiru.Ngombo, a former MCA, died while undergoing treatment at the Malindi Tawfiq Hospital on Monday night, after suffering a stroke after the August 8 general elections.Ngombo was famous for his rhetoric messages and Giriama sayings during political rallies in the Coast region.Addressing journalists at the Star Hospital mortuary, Joho who is the ODM Party leader, eulogized Ngombo as a dedicated leader who firmly defended the party.Joho said Ngombo’s death will not only be a loss to his family and the community in Kilifi, but to the entire Coast region and the ODM party.“He was an ambassador who stood firm with ODM. Ngombo started an agenda that has taken shape in the whole country. He took a note and begun campaigns for it not to have an image of a person but something different like a mountain or ocean,” said Joho.On his part, Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi said the county has lost a strong leader who was experienced in politics.“I have lost a father and a brother. As ODM, we have lost a big pillar. He was the ODM chief campaigner in Kilifi,” he said.Kingi said he met Ngombo in 2007 who went ahead to play a key role in his political journey.“He was a key pillar in my political journey, I have lost a brother and close friend,” said Kingi.
