Barely a week after president Uhuru Kenyatta and his jubilee brigade sought political support in the larger Coast region, area ODM leaders have kicked off campaigns.
Led by Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho, Kilifi's Amason Kingi and their Taita Taveta counterpart John Mruttu, the leaders kicked off campaigns in Taveta.
They also addressed supporters at Voi Stadium.
They clarified to the people the 'economic sabotage' that had happened to the coastal people under Jubilee governmnet, saying they should unite and vote as one, to send Uhuru home.
The leaders said they were troubled by emerging issues in the management of electoral information technology at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), and demanded they be addressed.
''We remain committed to a free and fair nominations and general election at all costs,'' said Joho, Thursday.
The leaders said they would hold political rallies across all the coast region Counties.
