Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and his Kilifi counterpart Amason Kingi’s secession calls for the Coast have received a boost after Kisii governor James Ongwae said he supports the move.
According to Ongwae, the National government under President Uhuru Kenyatta’s regime have been oppressing the rest of Kenyans and above all weakening constitutional bodies that should be independent.
Speaking on Friday morning while having a breakfast meeting with a section of investors in Kisii town the governor said he supports any motion that will allow strengthening up of devolution.
“Joho and Kingi have a good point as we have been receiving very little funds from the National government despite the fact that our people pay hefty taxes for the same,” said Ongwae.
