Speaking during the event held in Mombasa, Joho announced that the initiative looks to sign up more than 5,000 youths in sporting activities across the county.

"This project conceived by Haki Africa seeks to engage over 5,000 youth in sports and other extra-curricular activities," Joho said.

"This will go a long way in helping our youth explore their full potential by engaging in such productive commitments," he added.

The Youth Engagement and Empowerment Project dubbed Amani Mashinani Football Project was launched at the King'orani 7-aside football pitch in Mombasa.
