Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho remains the man to beat in the Mombasa gubernatorial race according to the latest opinion poll released by Infrotrak on Monday.According to the poll, if elections were held today, Joho will easily defend is seat with 62.8 per cent of those interviewed supporting his re-election bid.On the other hand, Jubilee's Suleiman Shahbal is Joho's nearest challenger with 8.2 per cent supporting his bid to unseat the ODM deputy party leader.Senator Hassan Omar who is facing a bruising battle for Wiper Party ticket against Nyali MP Hezron Awiti comes a distant third with 2.6 per cent supporting his bid.Despite being considered Joho's fiercest rival for the coveted governor seat, Awiti who recently hinted that he may be bolting out of Wiper amid unease over the party's nomination managed to pull only 1.4 per cent.With 24. per cent of those interviewed remaining undecided over their choice of the candidate, Infotrak CEO Angela Ambitho noted that the tide might change if Wiper Party settles on one candidate who will take on the incumbent.
