Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho on Tuesday held a consultative meeting with healthcare practitioners drawn from across the county.

The move was aimed at laying down frameworks of improving the health sector in Mombasa.

Speaking shortly after the meeting, Governor Joho asserted his administration's commitment in improving the healthcare system in the county, and announced plans to develop a blood bank that will aid major surgeries.

"This is part of the quarterly meeting I chair bringing together medical practitioners to find ways of improving communication and enhance service delivery in our public healthcare facilities," he said.

"Top on the agenda was plans of developing a Mombasa County Blood Bank that would easily facilitate surgeries and how to strengthen the human resource," he added.
