Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has agreed to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta for the betterment of the nation.

On Thursday, President Uhuru met Governor Joho is after a long drift between the two leaders.

"This is the time to forge ahead in a united country. Elections are now behind us let us work for the people," Governor Joho said.

The handshake between President Uhuru and Governor Joho has elicited mixed reactions from residents.

Here are some views from them: 

Amri Mrifa: Uhuru will never please everyone and it's high time he knows that. Ata akifikiria handshake itafanya watu wamupende hatuezi mpenda. 

Mustafar Yegon: President Uhuru is polite, cool and smart. He has reasons for all his handshakes. Well played Mr President

Yusuf Mutai: Joho had no otherwise but to accept it. Handshake syndrome spreading throughout Kenyan.
