Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has said Mombasa and Coast region will follow the political path that opposition leader Raila Odinga will give.

Joho, speaking during his swearing-in ceremony at the famous Mama Ngina grounds in Mombasa said he will firmly stand in defending the rights of the people of Mombasa at all times.“You have stood with us and we promise to stand with you,” he said.“We want to assure you as the people of Mombasa that where you will direct us is where we will go.”The ceremony was attended by Raila and NASA co-principal Musalia Mudavadi.Joho won the Mombasa gubernatorial race after trouncing his opponents by 221,177 votes.His closest challenger Jubilee’s Suleiman Shahbal scooped 69,551 votes while Wiper’s Omar Hassan got 43,787.Hezron Awiti of VDV received 4,709 as Kadu Asili’s Daniel Kitsao bagged 1,670.
