Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and Nominated Senator Agnes Zani are the only politicians from the Coast region who have made the cut to lead NASA Presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga’s countrywide campaigns in an effort to root out Jubilee from power.
The team which was unveiled on Wednesday at the NASA Secretariat will be headed by former deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi who is also the ANC party leader.Mudavadi will be deputized by Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama and ODM deputy Treasurer Ogla Karani.Other members of the team include Siaya Senator James Orengo, Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire,Suna East MP Junet Mohamed, MP Elijah Memusi of Kajiado Central, Lawyer Nzamba Kitonga and former PS Tirop Kosgey.Governor Joho's inclusion in the team is not surprising considering his new-found fame and popularity in the Kenyan political scene which has made him become a darling of the crowds. On the other hand, Dr Zani who is the ODM Secretary General, the coalition biggest affiliate party, might have been included in the team as she does not have a tight schedule owing to the fact that she is not contesting for any political seat. However, the NASA campaign team in the Coast region comprising of Governor Joho, his Kilifi counterpart Amason Kingi and Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar remains intact.
