The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) chief Raila Odinga has congratulated his deputy party leader, Ali Hassan Joho, for being re-elected for a second term as Mombasa governor.

Joho beat his rivals Jubilee’s Suleiman Shabhal and Wiper’s Hassan Omar in the recently concluded August 8 polls.

Speaking during Joho’s inauguration in Mombasa at Mama Ngina grounds, Tuesday, Raila revealed that his reason to attend the county’s boss swearing in ceremony was because Joho was legally elected unlike other governors who were computer generated.

“Kwa sababu nimekuja, Joho alipata kura asilimia sitini na sita. Kwa hivyo yeye (Joho) ni kifaranga kamili ya kuku. Ukienda Macahakos, Lamu, Nairobi, Garrisa na Kajiado wote walipata hamsini na nne, hiyo ni kifaranga ya kompyuta. (The reason why I came today is because Joho garnered 66 per cent of votes casted. If you go to Machakos, Lamu, Nairobi, Garrisa and Kajiado, they all got 54 per cent, those are computer generated chicks),” said Raila amid laughter from attendants.

The National Super Alliance (Nasa) co-principal Musalia Mudavadi was also present.
