Instead, the ODM deputy party leader has urged politicians from the region to come up with means of ensuring Odinga becomes the next Head of State after the 2017 general election.

While addressing ODM party delegates at CITAM hall in Kisumu on Saturday, Joho stated that Odinga’s hopes in politics were being marred by petty infighting among party members from the region.

He warned that the infighting was a hindrance to getting support from other parts of the country.

"We don't want to see our leaders and supporters fighting over non-development issues. We must remain united in all our strongholds to defeat Jubilee in the first round of the 2017 presidential race," Joho said.

He further called on supporters to ensure they market ODM with the sole goal of clinching the presidency.

Governors present during the rally were Jack Ranguma (Kisumu), Cornel Rasanga (Siaya), Cyprian Awiti (Homa Bay), Okoth Obado (Migori) and Sospeter Ojaamong (Busia).
