A day after bloody chaos that marred a meeting convened by Suna East MP Junet Mohammed, top protagonists involved in the major fracas met at ODM leader Raila Odinga’s office in Nairobi.
Supporters of Migori Governor Okoth Obado engaged in running battles with Mr. Mohammed Supporters before police intervened.
Obado had accused Mr. Mohammed, who doubles as ODM Director of elections of allegedly holding the meeting without involving him despite being area governor.
And during the confrontations, a security guard attached to Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho was shot and critically injured by police believed to be attached to Governor Obado.
But on Tuesday, Obado who had been summoned by ODM disciplinary committee, met with Joho and pledged to work together despite the ugly chaos that marred Joho’s tour in Migori.
“I met my brother Obado and as ODM leadership, we have assured him of free, fair and transparent nominations,” said Joho in his Facebook page.
“Our common enemy is Jubilee and that is what we have to weed out,” he added maintaining that he has a smooth relationship with Obado.
Moments after the chaos, Obado had accused Joho of touring his county without informing him given his high status in the party for proper reception.
Also, he accused Joho’s team led by Senators James Orengo and Anyang’ Nyong’o of supporting his rival, Ochilo Ayacko.
