The ODM camp in Mombasa has moved to water down the influence of Moha Jicho Pevu as the Nyali parliamentary seat continues to gain unstoppable momentum.
Speaking in Nyali on Friday, ODM leaders in the county who met members of the Luo community asked the locals to reject the former journalist who is vying for the seat as an independent candidate.Mombasa Women Representative Mishi Mboko claimed Ali has been sponsored by Jubilee Party to divide ODM votes in the county."This man is a Jubilee project. Their agenda is to divide ODM votes. He is not interested in going to parliament because he has already been given money,” said the firebrand Likoni MP aspirant. While asking residents to rally behind ODM candidate Said Abdalla alias Saido, Mboko said the youthful politician will fight fearlessly for the rights of residents as he has stood with Governor Hassan Joho since his days as an MP.She added that the constituency stands a chance to benefit from Saido's leadership as he has always served the community in various capacities. On his part, Governor Joho alleged that Ali is in constant communication with Kiambu Governor William Kabogo who is the chairman of the independent candidates in Kenya, adding that the former KTN investigative journalist does not mean well for Raila Odinga's presidential bid.
