Differences between Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho and president Uhuru Kenyatta, have taken a new twist.
This is after the ODM deputy party leader, claimed the Jubilee government is planning to bring him down, financially, by targeting his bank accounts.
The two have been in open political spat, with each one of them warning the other, against 'joking around' with the other.
Joho is said to have received a directive from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), asking him to provide details of his financial transactions at the Diamond Trust Bank (DTB), since 2011.
The letter dated March 14 indicated that the details were required under Section 59 (1) of the tax procedures Act 2015.
However, publicly dared Uhuru's administration to make good of its threats, and lock his accounts, saying he had nothing to lose.
"I am telling you, I have three bank accounts. I have an account at Barclays Bank, Stanbic Bank and DTB. You're free to take all the money in them and my life won't change,'' Joho said, during a rally in Lamu, Saturday.
