Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho presides over the official opening of the Counter Violent Extremism (CVE) Colloquium 2018 on Wednesday.
The conference under the theme “Beyond Bold, Inclusive Conversations” brought together various key stakeholders who included academicians, historians, religious leaders, sociologists, policy and research organizations and National Counter Terrorism Center among others.
The met to boldly and openly discuss CVE issues affecting the coastal region.
"It is paramount to contextualize and frame the conversations around the issue by mainstreaming the role of women in the agenda," said Joho.
He further expressed his sincere gratitude to the Human Rights Agenda (HURIA) headed by Yusuf Mwatsefu and all other colloquium partners who ensured the event was a success.
