Governor Hassan Joho has been ordered to appear before a Mombasa court to testify in a case where he has been accused of forging his Kenya Certificate of Secondary School (KCSE) result slip. The governor had earlier filed a petition to have the State barred from charging him with forgery. The judge in charge of the case, Justice Eric Ogola, wants the matter concluded before the August 8 general election. “I want this matter to be concluded before the General Election because it might have some implication in the coming General Election,” the judge said on Friday. The judge asked the participants in the case to appear in court on May 30 for further directions on when the case will be heard. Joho has been accused of forging his 1992 KCSE certificate, which he used to apply for a course at the University of Nairobi. The governor wants several state agencies, including the Kenya National Examination Council, kenya Revenue Authority and the Immigration Department stopped from harassing him.
