Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has written to his Nairobi counterpart Evans Kidero over planned series of political rallies in the capital.
According to the letter, Joho has requested permission for the party to hold a delegates forum followed by a public rally in Mathare.
Joho said that the party will hold political roadshows before the Mathare rally on September 18, 2016.
Despite the rally being a joint commitment by ODM leaders during the delegates ' convention in Mombasa on Saturday, September 10, its main aim is to popularise Odinga's bid for the presidency in Nairobi and its environs.
This comes days after the party held its 10th anniversary going down at Mama Ngina grounds in Mombasa county during which the party leader Raila Odinga officially 'unveiled' new signings who had defected from Jubilee.
