Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has unveiled plans to hold six major rallies in all the Coast Counties to woo the electorate to back Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga's presidential bid.
The governor said the rallies are aimed at ensuring Raila rises to power after the polls, adding that the party will hold a major rally at the Tononoka Grounds on March 27 where all aspirants will be expected to inform their supporters about their political direction.Joho’s revelations about the major rallies come barely two weeks after he jetted back into the country from the United States of America.Upon arrival, Joho declared that the journey to take the former Prime Minister to State House has just began, adding that he will pitch tents in different parts of the nation to campaign for Raila. Joho and his Kilifi Counterpart Amason Kingi have affirmed they will protect the opposition’s votes in the region ahead of the next general election. The two leaders have assured Kenyans that Raila will fight for their rights if elected president.Meanwhile, the Jubilee Party has also intensified its campaigns in the region as President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto seek re-election.
