Tononoka grounds in Mombasa turned into a ‘battle field’ when Joho Queens clashed with Warembo wa Uhuru during the Mashujaa Day celebrations.

The two groups of women heckled each other as well as politicians who had attended the ceremony.

The drama ensued when Joho Queens started shouting at Mombasa gubernatorial aspirant Ananiah Mwaboza and former Changamwe MP Ramadhan Kajembe.

The clash between the women who have pledged their loyalty to President Uhuru Kenyatta and Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho disrupted the colorful ceremony meant to celebrate the nation’s heroes.

Joho Queens heckled Kajembe for criticizing Joho’s track record, saying they will not allow anyone to disrespect their leader, especially in his absence.

“Kajembe cannot talk ill of Joho’s government when he is not here. He is our leader and you must respect him. Why not say those thingd when he is around? We will not allow this to happen,” said one lady, as quoted by the Nation.

It was at this point that Warembo wa Uhuru joined in to defend the former MP,  in an effort to shut down Joho’s group.

Mombasa County commissioner Evans Achoki criticized the women for disrupting the national celebrations, saying they should accord the day the respect it deserves.
