While addressing residents of Kondele in Kisumu on Wednesday, the ODM deputy said he'd taken over from Raila the role of championing for the party's agenda.

"The party is strong but we need to do more.  In few months time,  I'll start serious campaigns aiming at encroaching our opponents territories.

" As we do this, we give Baba (Raila) to engage other leaders at the national level.  We have come of age to help him in certain aspects like grassroots party campaigns," said the second term governor.

As part of the elaborate plan,  Joho said he'd visit his Kisumu counterpart Peter Nyong'o to lay foundations for intense campaigns ahead of 2022 polls.

The governor made a stopover in the infamous roundabout where demonstrations are organized whenever ODM supporters are agitating for change.

Although he insisted that he would support constitutional amendments, Joho gave and indication of a possible Odinga retirement in 2022.

"I was first elected on ODM in 2006 at Kisauni. I will use the same party to contest for presidency in 2022," he said amid celebrations from an enthusiastic crowd .
