A visibly agitated Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has dismissed Deputy President William Ruto’s remarks that he is not learned adding that he was not interested in a fight.
On Sunday, the DP questioned academic credentials of the outspoken Governor, blaming underdevelopment at the coastal county on his alleged under qualification.
Speaking in Kilifi on Wednesday, Joho termed Ruto academic ‘giant’ further questioning his ability of reasoning based on previous decisions in his political career.
“William Ruto was in Mombasa the other day and called me an academic dwarf and I don’t dispute. I agree he is an academic giant and I respect that because it has nothing to do with me,” Joho said.
“But I wonder how the academic giant can auction his URP party to the usual mafia. He even went further to allow Standard Gauge Railway to end at Naivasha instead of thinking about his people,” he said adding that he wasn’t interested in the fight with him.
The two politicians have been engaging in public spat with pundits associating their political animosity with 2022 presidential elections.
