Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho recently revealed some of the reasons why the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has not been getting many votes from the Rift Valley and Central regions.
According to the outspoken governor, many of the residents in these regions believe that Raila is a bad person and he is likely to take their resources upon election.
Speaking at Sheikh Zayed Hall in Nyali Constituency, Joho said Raila is the right man to change the destiny of this nation.
“I once asked one person from Central Kenya who he will vote for. He told me he will vote for Uhuru and not Raila because Raila is a bad person. If he wins, 'our cows and sheep will be taken away',” said Joho.
"I want you to go back and ask yourselves whether what you’re being told is true,” he added, as quoted Tuko.
The Coast kingpin said many Kenyans have been misled to believe that the former Prime Minister is a dictator who will oppress them in different ways upon election, which he says is not the case.
“You find that they don’t even have these goats and cows but are being convinced that when Raila comes to power, he will take them. These people want you to remain poor that is why they keep saying that,” said the governor.
