Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar has accused his rival, Governor Hassan Joho, of hijacking a NASA event held in the county last week.
According to Omar’s office, Joho hijacked NASA’s Iftar dinner last Friday, turning it into an ODM affair.
According to Kenyans.co.ke, the dinner was meant to provide an opportunity for NASA leaders to brainstorm on various issues regarding the coalition.
The outspoken Governor is, however, said to have taken advantage of the event to drum up support for ODM candidates.
The move is reported to have angered members of the other NASA affiliate parties who had attended the event.
However, Omar who was meant to co-host the dinner with Joho snubbed the event.
Infighting was also witnessed during the event, as ODM and Wiper leaders engaged in a power tussle.
NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka publicly differed over the six piece voting pattern, with the Wiper Party leader telling off the former Prime Minister over the same.
