Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has hit out at his political critics in the Coast region, saying only his trusted friend and Kilifi counterpart Amason Kingi is in his league. Joho said his critics are not at the same level as him, adding that he can therefore not waste time worrying about them.“There is no match for us here in Coast. We are out of your league,” Joho said.Joho made the remarks during NASA’s consultative forum on the People’s Assembly held at the Sun n Sand Beach Hotel in Kikambala, Kilifi County on Sunday. The county boss said he has no time for cabinet secretaries, governors, MPs or senators who hurriedly assemble press conferences to answer him every time he speaks.Joho's statement has been interpreted to have been directed at Tourism CS Najib Balala, his Mining counterpart Dan Kazungu, former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar and other Jubilee politicians in the Coast region.Balala has led an onslaught against Joho and Kingi over their push for the secession of the Coast region. The CS has hit out at the two governors, saying they are only looking for political relevance since they are in their last terms.Joho, however, said he stopped responding to critics when he joined national politics, adding that he will let his foot soldiers deal with them. The outspoken governor hit out at counties aligned to Jubilee, arguing that they have done little to improve the lives of residents.
