Mombasa County Governor Hassan Joho has slammed the newly formed Jubilee Party that was unveiled on Tuesday at State House by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto.
Speaking on Wednesday in Vikwatani, Kisauni Constituency during a development tour, the governor claimed that the small parties that dissolved to merge have no solid support in the ground.
"I saw them on Tuesday at State House. They have taken small parties with little or no support by the electorate, claiming that they have now merged to form something bigger," said Joho.
"These small parties have no supporters, no elected Members of Parliament or even Members of the County Assembly. They are the same people and there is nothing new about the new party," he added.
Formation of the new party saw President Uhuru Kenyatta become its party leader and automatic presidential bearer in the 2017 general elections.
