Raila Odinga, the ODM party leader on Friday chaired a meeting of the Central Committee of the party at Orange House in Nairobi.
The Central Committee is the highest decision-making organ of the party.
Odinga's deputies, Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho and his Kakamega counterpart Wycliffe Oparanya failed to attend the meeting that saw Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna, Political Affairs leader Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi, and Director of Direct Elections Suna East MP Junet Muhammed in attendance.
Also present were Senate Minority Leader Siaya Senator James Orengo, Executive Director Oduor Ongwen, Chairman John Mbadi among others.
Even though Joho missed the meeting, it is not clear whether he was invited or not.
Odinga briefed the members on the status of the handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Kenya's unity and reconciliation process.
The party leader also received a formal invitation from a delegation to give a keynote address during the merger of Uganda's DP/SDP Youth Conference on 23rd May 2018 at Makerere University.
The delegation was led by their Chairman Samuel Lubega.
