President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto are reportedly attempting to convince Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho to support them in 2022.According to The Star, Uhuru and Ruto plan to have Governor Joho, who is also the ODM deputy party leader, to act as Jubilee point man in Mombasa ahead of the 2022 general election.Sources quoted by the daily have revealed that there are several emissaries who have approached Joho to cross over to the ruling coalition. However, Mombasa Director of Communication Richard Chacha has dismissed the claims, saying the county boss has no plans to form an alliance with Jubilee leaders in the near future. He also denied claims of emissaries being sent to meet the Governor, adding that Joho is in NASA to stay.“We are in NASA. Our DNA is NASA. There’s no way the Governor can join them,” said Chacha, as quoted by the Star.“We have no arrangement with Jubilee,” he added.Joho has already declared interest in the 2022 presidential race.
