Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho has accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of visiting the Coastal region only when he is out to solicit for votes.
Speaking on Thursday in Kwale during a meet-the-people tour organised by opposition coalition NASA, the outspoken governor further accused the Head of State and the Jubilee adminstration of neglecting the Coastal people for the past four and half years.
“Jubilee should accept that the SGR and the Mariakani–Mavueni road they are boasting of building are not their ‘children’. Jubilee has frustrated the region and it’s time they packed and went home,” he stated.
He further called on the locals to vote out the Jubilee adminstration and instead back NASA, arguing that the region's interests are best represented in the outfit.
“When Uhuru visits the Coast, let him know that he is coming as a tourist. He has a lot of money for you to take. Take the money and vote Jubilee out," he quipped.
Joho has been a fierce critic of the Jubilee adminstration.
