Mombasa County Governor Ali Joho seems to have taken his new role at ODM with vigour, after he led other ODM MPs and leaders in popularizing party leader Raila Odinga’s presidential bid in next year’s elections.
Joho led other ODM leaders to hold rallies in Kitui County, the stronghold of Wiper leader and CORD co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka.
The vocal governor, who seem to have taken the lead role in party matters, promised last week in Mombasa that he will take the front-line in spear heading party projects, and it was evident when he led the leaders in Ukambani.
Joho was accompanied by Suna East MP Junnet Mohammed and former deputy speaker to the national assembly Farah Maalim, as he addressed locals by the roadsides to ensure they popularize their party leader’s quest to be the flag bearer.
The party is set to hold another rally today, Sunday, in Mathare, which will be the culmination of other roadside addresses in Nairobi.
However, the rally will coincide with a Jubilee rally that is set to be held in the same area, which will be led by former ODM member, Mathare MP Steve Kariuki.
