Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has promised to acquire a new ferry for the Mtongwe channel if NASA wins the August election.
Joho who addressed a rally in Likoni said the NASA administration would improve the lives of Mombasa residents and lower the cost of living.The Mtongwe ferry services were disrupted in April after channel ramps were swept away by strong ocean waves.The channel’s services had been opened in March.Joho said he will ensure the new Mtongwe ferry eases movement between Mtongwe and Mombasa near Bandari College.The ferry usually crosses the Kilindini Creek a few kilometers west of the Kilindini line.The outspoken county boss pledged that the residents of Waitiki would get title deeds without any charges.He urged the people of Likoni to turn up in large numbers so as to vote for him and other ODM candidates including NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga.
