Stylish Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho on Friday ruled out possibilities of the ODM party backing NASA coalition partners in 2022 presidential elections.
Wiper party has been putting ODM under pressure to honour the 2017 deal with Deputy Secretary General Peter Mathuki warning of betrayal.
"We still have options but they (ODM) must honour the deal. We have supported them for a decade," he told the Sunday Nation.
The ODM party has been critical of Kalonzo Musyoka, who has been Raila's running mate for two consecutive elections, for skipping the former's mock swearing in ceremony last month.
And at Orange House, Joho, who deputises Raila, said the orange party will focus on ascending to power and will not 'waste time' on coalition partners.
"I am going to repeat the name ODM many times, that in the end, you will all leave here knowing that it is the only party," he said, in an indirect jibe on Kalonzo.
Although the content of the 2017 MoU remain scanty, it is however understood that Raila had pledged that he will not run again for presidency.
With Klaonzo poised as his successor, the ODM party, through some legislators, seems to have changed their mind on Kalonzo, who is poised to take over NASA mantle.
