Outspoken Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho insists Kalonzo Musyoka remains Raila Odinga's deputy despite talks within the ODM party.
At Orange House during the party's NGC, Joho, who has been fronted by a section of ODM leaders to take over from Raila, said the talks are only focusing on strengthening the party.
"I am not taking anyone's position in NASA and let people know that. Whatever politics we are playing in ODM should not worry you (Kalonzo).
He further said: "As Raila's deputy in the party, I only step in when he needs me to but it is also important we stop being cowards."
While addressing the meeting, a furious Kalonzo slammed a section of ODM leaders who he accused of disrespecting him as the coalition's principal.
ODM's Simba Arati (Dagoretti North) and Millie Odhiambo (Suba North) are on record for dismissing Kalonzo as a coward.
"We cannot allow cowards and as ODM, we do not owe anyone political debt. We shall back Joho in 2022," Ms. Odhiambo once wrote on her Facebook.
