Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho is yet again expected to lead a powerful delegation to Gusii Stadium for a youth summit dubbed Kikao 001 in which ODM party leader Raila Odinga will be the chief Guest, Kisii Assembly majority leader Protus Moindi has confirmed.
The Youth summit was organised by Kisii County ODM Youth League and will be the first among the 47 others that are expected to be carried out in all counties across the country as the party seeks to consolidate its support.
In a phone conversation on Wednesday, Moindi said the outspoken Mombasa Governor would preside over the event in his capacity as Deputy Party leader.
“We have received formal confirmation from 10 Governors, 50 MPs, and several MCAs both from Kisii and other neighboring counties. They will grace the occasion where we shall discuss the role of youth in our economy,” he said.
“Joho will lead the delegation and will be in charge of the event in his capacity as the Deputy Party leader meaning he will chair the occasion. Governor James Ongwae will be our host and so that is all sorted,” he added.
He said the party will also grace the occasion to pronounce its manifesto and policies to thousands of residents expected to convene at Gusii stadium.
Joho has been rising steadily within the ODM party causing anxiety to Cord co-principals Moses Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka.
