ODM Deputy Party leader Hassan Joho will be in Garissa town on Saturday.
The Mombasa Governor will be in the town to campaign for former Parliament Deputy Speaker Farah Maalim who is seeking to dethrone Garissa Township MP Aden Duale during the August general elections.
A source from the Wiper party who spoke to this writer on Thursday said Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka is also expected to attend the rally to be held at Garissa Primary School.
Duale is under pressure to retain his seat following accusations that he has done little to help the people of Garissa Township constituency.
Maalim recently accused Duale of promoting tribalism when he accused the outspoken MP of plotting to evict non-Somalis from Garissa.
Maalim who is expected to vie for MP on a Wiper ticket enjoys support from non-Somalis living in Garissa town.
Joho's presence during the rally will be a boost for Maalim as his influence within the opposition circles increases by the day.
