Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho is set to hold talks on Thursday with investors from various sectors, to discuss the county's Integrated Strategic Urban Development plan.
The grand plan which is estimated to cost Sh120 million, was announced by the governor on January 16, 2016.
The intention to implement the plan was announced following a meeting with Japanese investors and Kenyan representatives led by Treasury CS Henry Rotich and Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho in November, 2015.
The plan is set to boost development in the county, which is said to have been operating without a strategic plan since 2006.
Lack of a proper development plan has been blamed for traffic congestion, poor sanitation and infrastructure, as well as hasty growth of slums in the county.
