Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has told President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto to forget Coast votes.
Joho said that the endless trips Uhuru and Ruto are making to counties in the Coast region will not bear any fruits in the next general election.
The outspoken governor said Coast residents will stand with Cord leader Raila Odinga in the upcoming polls.
“Let them make as many trips to the Coast as they can but nothing will change,” he said as quoted by the Standard.
The opposition under the leadership of Raila has accused the Jubilee administration of failing to keep the promises it made before the last general election.
Speaking during his tour of the Western region, Raila down played the projects initiated by the government.
“They come with tractors to commission roads after which the machines are returned to where they came from. The projects stall because the government has committed itself on non-existent projects where money is lost,” he told residents in Luanda.
On his part, Vihiga Senator George Khaniri said Jubilee does not deserve another term because of mega scandals.
“We hope that when Uhuru and Ruto came to Western, they came to bid us bye because this is their last term in government. He is going down in Kenya’s history books as the only Kenya’s one-term President,” he said.
