Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho slammed president Uhuru Kenyatta for allegedly boasting about development projects that were initiated by the Grand Coalition government in 2012.
He said Uhuru had been visiting the region to launch projects that were started by former president Mwai Kibaki and former prime minister Raila Odinga, telling locals that they were Jubilee government's projects.
Dismissing a water drainage project that Uhuru had commissioned at Bamburi, Kisauni Sub-county, Joho said the project was fully funded by donors including the World Bank.
"Truth be told. This project that the president is launching was never funded by Jubilee government. It is a Grand Coalition government project that World Bank has been funding,'' Joho said Thursday as he shared same podium with the president.
Kenyatta however maintained that his government was committed to ensuring all parts of the Country receive equal developments.
He also asked politicians to engage in constructive politics.
The president also commissioned the Buxton Footbridge Non-Motorised Transport Project in Mombasa.
''We are commissioning projects worth Sh3.2 billion in Mombasa today,'' Uhuru said Thursday.
