Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho has asked the court to dismiss a petition challenging his August 8 election win.
Former Senator and gubernatorial hopeful Hassan Omar filed a petition against Joho's victory, alleging that the governor was invalidly elected after engaging in electoral malpractices in the run up to the August polls.
In his prayers, Omar wants Joho's win invalidated and be declared the duly elected governor.
However, Joho, through his lawyer Mohammed Balala, noted on Wednesday that Omar's is full of factual and legal errors.
Further, Omar accused Joho of voter bribery and other election offences that he says provides enough grounds for the nullification of Joho's victory.
