Kwale governor Salim Mvurya has warned Mombasa governor Hassan Ali Joho from disrespecting President Uhuru Kenyatta.
This comes after Joho launched an attack on the Jubilee administration on Thursday when President Uhuru was commissioning a water drainage project in Bamburi and a footbridge in Buxton.
Joho said the Jubilee administration is taking credit for some projects initiated before they took over power to woo the electorates into re-electing them.
In his speech he challenged the national government over the funding of some of the projects and asked the government to show the residents those projects it had initiated in the area.
According to Mvurya, Joho’s constant attack on the Jubilee administration is a bad show and unbecoming of a leader
“The presidency is an institution that has to be respected by everyone regardless of power or wealth,” said Mvurya while speaking in Kombani on Saturday when he issued bursaries to top students in the county.
He also warned politicians who have allegedly been visiting his constituency to insult him.
“If you want to get respect by a certain area, it will be reflected through its leaders. If you want to see a country respected, you must respect the President. You cannot keep on abusing Kenyatta, he deserves respect and Kwale needs to be respected, we do not have space for leaders who come to insult here” Mvurya said.
