Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya has warned his Mombasa counterpart Hassan Joho to stop intruding into affairs of other counties in the Coast region.

Governor Mvurya claims that Joho is poking his nose and trying to control the management of some Coast counties allied to the National Super Alliance (NASA).

Speaking in Kwale Town on Tuesday, the Jubilee governor asked Joho to concentrate on his county and allow others to discharge their mandate without being controlled.

The Jubilee governor said that Joho has no right to dictate on how some governors should run their affairs. He said that Coast region does not belong to Joho or NASA, adding that individual counties should be left their own.

Mvurya alleges that Joho has been successful in manipulating Kilifi governor Amason Kingi and he is working hard to manipulate others.

“Governor Joho should stick to his county and stop forcing other coast counties and leaders to subscribe to his unconstitutional political tactics,” he said.

Mvurya claimed that Joho is forcing Coast politicians to support his push for secession. He said that the Mombasa governor has neglected his duties and is pushing for things that are not defined in the constitution.

Mvurya asked Coast governors and politicians not to be misled by the ODM deputy leader who he accused of seeking fame.

“We all know that Governor Joho wants to succeed NASA leader Raila Odinga and is using the opportunity to manipulate some Coast politicians into dancing to his political tactics,” he said.

Mvurya asked Coast locals to remain strong and reject manipulation, saying that the region does not depend on Joho or governor Kingi to survive.

The Jubilee governor said that Coast will no longer be used by opposition leaders for their political egos urging locals to support President Uhuru Kenyatta’s’ government.

Joho, alongside other Coast politicians, is pushing for secession on grounds that the region has been marginalized by the current and previous regime.

The Mombasa county boss says that a consultative convention involving coast counties will soon be held to chart forward on secession even as the national government warns against the push to secede.
