Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has warned County Executive Committee (CEC) members and county employees against indulging in corruption.Joho said his administration will not hesitate to take stern action on county officials who will be implicated in corruption scandals.Speaking to journalists at the Mombasa County offices after overseeing the swearing in of newly appointed CeCs on Thursday, Joho said his government has put in place tough measures to detect and punish corrupt officials.Governor Joho said the county is closely working with the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) alongside other relevant State agencies to encourage prudent use of public resources.The ODM Governor revealed that the county has organised forums to sensitise county employees against corruption.He asked county employees to familiarise themselves with Chapter Six of the Constitution to avoid landing in trouble.“Mombasa is a corruption no-go zone and whoever who will be caught indulging in it should blame him or herself,” said Joho.Governor Joho appealed to the public to report any instances of corruption directly to his office, adding that he will be launching free toll numbers where locals can report corruption.Joho urged county staff to work diligently and help his government fulfill the pledges it made to the people.He pledged to pump more money into needy areas in efforts to scale development and provide quality services to the people.
