Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has criticised police officers over the recent disruption of an ODM political rally in Kinango and Lunga Lunga in Kwale County.Speaking during a press briefing in Mombasa on Friday, Joho said police have now become one of Jubilee's wing meant to frustrate ODM and other opposition leaders during planned rallies at the Coast."The police in this country have now become one wing of Jubilee government meant to frustrate leaders from the opposition from successfully carrying out their campaigns. This is unacceptable and should come to an end," said Joho.Joho further said police officers are only meant to offer security and not permission to leaders to hold a rally. He called on Coast residents to attend an ODM rally that will be held at the Tononoka grounds on Sunday, and asked police to provide the needed security during the event."I call on all persons from Mombasa and other neighbouring counties to come for the rally that we have organised at Tononoka grounds on Sunday March 26. The police should provide us with security on that day and if they cannot, then we will put plans in order for the same since ODM supporters are a peaceful people," added Joho.
